Writer's Block, Fangirl and Nam Woo Hyun

It's been a long long LONG time since I have updated this blog. To cut a long story short, I had a hard time for a while and followed it up by a mega writer's blog. But here I am today with my hands hovering above the keyboard. I am determined about writing today. I shall write even if it amounts to nothing much because I eventually have to start somewhere.

Who (what?) is Woo Hyun, you ask? Do me a favour and go find out yourself, here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVtcn6ptjmE

My last post before I took a break was about my love for K-dramas. It was but natural that the next thing that I entered in K-world was K-Pop which lead me to this band called 'Infinite' and the rest, as they say, is history.

There was a time last year when I felt more alone than ever before. Don't get me wrong. I wasn't actually alone. I had concerned friends- special shout outs Sam, Crazycat and AM (Congratulations on your first blog appearances, the two of you! :D) and family who knew what was up and did their best to help me through it. But, and I am sure a lot of you will probably understand, there are sometimes periods when rational thought just doesn't work.

At the end of the day, I always had people to cry to but not people to cry with. This is where my journey into the mostly weird but often awfully endearing world of K-Pop, Infinite and its seven members to be more accurate, began.

I don't even know how to begin to describe how this works. For someone who isn't a part of a fandom, it will probably be very difficult to understand (Note how I use the word 'fandom' because I do mean all of the implications that come with the word). However, I will try to explain without going into specifics. There were times when all I wanted to do was cry but crying had become uncharacteristically hard. That is when I discovered that I could cry along with certain songs of Infinite. That is also when I discovered that I could also cry along with the members of the band (they cry a lot, they are babies, don't ask me why).

Why the lives and times of 7 korean boys, a little less than half way across the world, matters to me is hard to explain but it does. Maybe the way I can explain it is this...Nam Woo Hyun can come up with the song linked above after a year of depression, a fact that he had to own up to publicly when he was spotted looking listless and subdued while being on a world tour. If he can do it while constantly being in the public eye and dealing with the pressures of a bloody world tour, I can damn well write shitty articles like this till I get my groove back.

P.S. I know this post sucks but bear with me. I will be back.
